Abstract
A new coordination compound [Cu(hpg)2(H2O)]n (D-Hhpg = D(-)-4-hydroxyphenylglycine) has been successfully synthesized by slow evaporation of solution at room temperature and structurally characterized. Single-crystal X-ray diffraction analysis reveals that complex 1 crystallized in the monoclinic C2 space group, with cell parameters a = 36.146(4), b = 6.5383(5)), c = 6.9270(7), and β = 90.483(9). The title compound features a discrete molecular structure, which is further extended into an intricate 2D infinite supramolecular layer through numerous hydrogen bonding interactions. Finally, three types of π-π stacking interactions between two adjacent layers resulted in a 3D supramolecular architecture.
