Abstract
Pr(III) and Nd(III) complexes of the 18- and 20-membered dioxatetraaza macrocyclic ligands are synthesized by the Schiff base condensation of 2,6-diformyl-4-methylphenol with diamine in the presence of Ln(III) in dry ethanol at ambient temperature. These complexes were entrapped in the nanopores of Y-zeolite by in situ one pot template synthesis 2,6-diformyl-4-methylphenol with diamine in the presence of Ln(III)-NaY. The new complex nanoparticles entrapped in the nanopores of zeolite Y [LnL]3+@NaY were characterized by several techniques. Analysis of the data indicates that the Ln(III) complexes are encapsulated in the zeolite-Y and exhibit different properties from those of the free complexes.
