Abstract

Sulfamic acid supported on magnetic Fe3O4 nanoparticles catalyzed the condensation reaction of aldehydes, 1,3-dicarbonyl compounds, and urea or thiourea in the synthesis of 3,4-dihydropyrimidin-2(1H)-ones/thiones under solvent-free conditions. This method offers several advantages including high yield, short reaction time, ease of separation, and recyclability of the magnetic catalyst.
