Abstract
Diamond-like carbon films have extensively been investigated in the last few decades owing to their outstanding properties. In this paper, in order to obtain a reliable adhesion between the deposited DLC and steel substrates, tantalum thin film was sputtered on steel substrates by DC-sputtering system. Formation of DLC in the deposited films is proved by the presence of the D and G bands in the Raman spectra. The physical and chemical properties of the samples were measured using AFM and UV-Vis, and FTIR analyzing systems.
