Abstract
Complexes of ruthenium(III) and rhodium(III) with 1-phenyl-2-thiohydantoin(PThtH), l-m-chlorophenyl-2-thio-hydantoin (MCThtH), l-o-methoxyphenyl-2-thiohydantoin (OMThtH) and 1-naphthyl-2-thiohydantoin (NThtH) have been prepared and characterised on the basis of elemental analyses, spectral (electronic, infrared and 1H n.m.r.) and magnetic susceptibility measurements. All these complexes are six-coordinated and possess octahedral stereochemistry. Various ligand field and nephelauxetic parameters have been evaluated wherever possible.
