Abstract
Ruthenium(II) and rhodium(I) complexes of the type [Ru(CO)Cl(PPh3)2(NX)], [RuH(CO)(PPh3)2(NX)], [Rh(PPh3)3(NX)] and [Rh(CO)(PPh3)2(NX)] have been synthe-sised by the reactions of [RuHCl(CO)(PPh3)3], [RuH2(CO) (PPh3)3] [RhH(PPh3)4] and [RhH(CO)(PPh3)3] with Schiff bases having the donor groups (N.X) viz., cinnamaldehyde semicarbazone (X=0), benzaldehyde semicarbazone (X = 0), cinnamaldehyde thiosemicarbazone (X=S) and benzaldehyde thiosemicarbazone (X=S). These complexes have been characterised on the basis of elemental analysis, IR, 1H-NMR and electronic spectral studies.
