Abstract
In their thoughtful discussions of “A Dynamic Systems View of the Transformational Process of Mirroring,” both Dr. Tessa Philips and Dr. Sandra Hershberg add to the conversation about the non-linear, dynamic, relational process of mirroring as illustrated by the case of “Molly.” My response to their discussions elaborates several points brought up in their responses, including the increased sense of aliveness facilitated by the mirroring process through its evocation of the patient's experience of “mineness,” In addition, I delineate the application of principles drawn from the article to the therapeutic process.
