Letter from the Editors

, PhD, LCSW-C, CEAP & , PhD, LCSW

As we enter 2017, we wish to extend our gratitude to our Editorial Board members and reviewers as we are continuously and deeply appreciative of their efforts and support. The span of their combined expertise is broad and encompasses knowledge and experience that supports the aims of this unique journal.

The past year has also been a time of transition and growth for the Journal of Workplace Behavioral Health. We are sad to see our Managing Editor Anschion Maiden depart, as she journeys toward new adventures in her career and personal life. Ms. Maiden served for several years in an administrative role supporting the Journal’s prior Editor, Dr. R. Paul Maiden, and then supported the processes of the current Co-Editors, providing a total of 17 years of dedicated service. It is significant that her time with the Journal spanned the period both before and after the implementation of a new online publishing program, requiring great commitment and diligence from Ms. Maiden. The scope of her work for the Journal included submissions processing, editing, quality control, communications and generally fixing anything that needed fixing. Her commitment has been a vital component that sustained the quality of the Journal!

We are pleased, however, to announce the addition of Amanda Mosby, MA, who will be serving as the Journal’s Editorial Office Administrator. Ms. Mosby has a long history of service as an academic administrator, and currently serves in a full-time position at the University of Maryland at Baltimore School of Social Work. We are happy to welcome her onboard and know that her expertise and commitment will enhance the functioning and quality of the Journal overall.

The Journal continues to evolve, gradually diversifying its focus and its global reach. We are experiencing a steady increase in submissions and publications from countries outside of North America, where the Journal originated and is managed. Our recently published authors hail from a variety of countries, including Sweden, India, Ghana, Italy, South Africa and Norway. We rely increasingly on expert peer reviewers from a variety of countries as well.

The topics in the Journal’s published articles are also diversifying and represent the intersecting boundaries of a variety of professional fields, including employee assistance professionals, organizational health and wellness professionals, human resource professionals, organizational development professionals, safety professionals and several other evolving fields of practice. We welcome direct inquiries from authors considering submission, as the scope of the Journal continues to expand.

To provide a sense of the topical appeal of the Journal, here are the articles that generated our greatest number of downloads in the last year.
