ABSTRACT

Intimate Partner violence (IPV) is prevalent psychosocial phenomenon with disproportionate consequences among Latina survivors. We incorporate the perspectives of Latina survivors, service providers, and community partners to explore congruence between survivors’ needs and the implementation of culturally specific IPV services, as well as their benefits for Latina survivors. Three main themes were identified: Establishing Psychological Safety and Trust; Exploring and Managing the Impact of IPV; Enhancing Connections. Our findings support prior research demonstrating the benefits of culturally specific IPV services, and the importance of congruence between culturally specific IPV service provision and the expressed needs and desires of Latina survivors.
