Modeling of hydrate formation condition for binary gases containing methane and ethane

Pages 2166-2172 | Published online: 15 Nov 2017

ABSTRACT

The present study was purposed to model the hydrate formation temperature of the pure gas containing CH4 and C2H6 in a certain pressure range from 1 to 50 MPa by Peng–Robinson (PR). Hydrate forming temperature depends on pressure and composition of gases. Accuracy of this model was evaluated by data collected from other previously published research. Results from the model showed the hydrate formation temperatures have great agreement with reported values. High value of R2 (0.99) confirms its satisfactory performance.
