ABSTRACT
Combined cooling, heating, and power source (CCHP) is a hybrid system that converts the recycled heat for power generation, and air conditioning. They also use a compression or absorption chiller along with other equipment. In this study, a new arrangement of CCHP energy flow with proton exchange membrane fuel cell (PEMFC) as the primary mover has been proposed for decreasing the power demand in a residential building in Tehran, Iran. The building floor area is 6400 m2 and the ceiling average height is 4.2 m. Here, a newly developed model of the Sunflower Optimization (BSFO) Algorithm is introduced for improving the system efficiency toward the systems with separate generation systems. Before the simulation, the accuracy of the modeled PEMFC has been validated and then the ability of the configuration is analyzed by considering different electric cooling to cool load ratio. The optimal capacity value for the electric cooling to cool load and the power generating unit is achieved and , respectively, which are obtained by the electric and the absorption chillers from the recovery system or the boiler. The total results show that using the proposed configuration reduces the emission and gives better energy saving.
