Abstract
Due to the geological, topographical, technological and economical uncertainties involved in the mining sector, risk and uncertainty factors should also be taken into account in the efficiency and productivity evaluation process. In the efficiency evaluation accomplished by using Data Envelopment Analysis processed in an environment involving risks and uncertainties, the Fried-Lovell (1996) and CitationMuniz (2002) model which allows the study of non-discretionary inputs is used. Apart from that, the Monte Carlo simulation method is used in order to determine the probabilistic values of the non-discretionary inputs. At the end of the research, the inefficiency sources at the investigated enterprises are determined. Concerning the probabilistic non-discretionary input values, Yatağan is concluded to be the most risky enterprise, followed by Seyitömer, Tavsanli and Orhaneli enterprises.
