Abstract

Exergoeconomic analysis helps designers to find ways to improve the performance of a system in a cost-effective way. In this article, thermoeconomic analysis and exergoeconomic evaluation were performed for a 140 MW gas turbine power plant based on the second law of thermodynamics. Cost rates of exergy streams for any state of cycle and unit cost of the final product in the power plant were calculated. The effects of a change in the compressor pressure ratio, gas turbine inlet temperature, and turbine and compressor isentropic efficiency on the unit cost of the product were also studied. The analysis shows the deep relation of the unit cost to the change in these parameters.
