Abstract
A new extraction method has been developed for the determination of blood lead level (BLL) in children. The population studied in this study was the children between 1 and 6 years old from Kermanshah, Iran. To prepare the plasma sample, ZnSO4 and acetonitrile were used. The results of this survey showed the BLL was lower than the allowed limit, this process can be problematic in the long run as lead in the blood increases in children with aging. Moreover, the blood lead concentration was higher in urban kids than rural ones due to the air pollutions in the city, more contact to plastic toys and building paints.
