Abstract
In this paper, we show the near numerical equivalence of the Testimation and Schwarz Information criterion to check whether the LMC-Cepheid-PL relation has a change point in the slope. The advantage of the testimation method is that the variance of the estimated slope with this technique is smaller than the variance of the slope estimates from the least-square regression. Both the testimation and the Schwarz Information Criterion support previous results reporting a change point in the LMC-PL relation.
