ABSTRACT

The aim of this study is to investigate primary school teachers’ perceptions of the concepts of intergenerational space (ISP), intergenerational solidarity (ISO), intergenerational knowledge sharing (IKS), and intergenerational learning (ILE); to uncover the nature of the relationships among these phenomena; to determine the level of implementation of these variables in primary schools; and to explore the relationship between these variables. In this research, an exploratory mixed method was employed, comprising a qualitative phase followed by a quantitative phase. The purpose of using this method was to first establish a model based on teachers’ perspectives and then to generalize this model through quantitative research methods. The data from the qualitative phase were analyzed using content analysis, and the quantitative data were analyzed through structural equation modeling (SEM) analysis. By evaluating the results of the qualitative and quantitative data together, a “First Step to Generation-Friendly School Model” was developed.
