The 4th International Conference on ‘Inverse Problems: Modeling and Simulation’ was held in Fethiye, Turkey, during May 26–30, 2008.
As an outcome of the conference, 11 selected articles were approved for publication in Special Issue of the journal Inverse Problems in Science and Engineering (IPSE). These articles represent a good balance between some of the fundamental concepts of inverse problems in science and engineering and some interesting applications of such problems.
The articles were internationally refereed, each of them being evaluated by three independent reviewers. Therefore, we must acknowledge such colleagues whose anonymous work is greatly appreciated.
Thanks are also due to the authors who have worked hard to prepare the full versions of their articles.
Finally, we are greatly indebted to Professor George S. Dulikravich, Founder and Editor-in-Chief of IPSE journal who kindly approved the publication of the Special Issue and who was also very supportive along the entire review process.
