Dear Colleagues, Authors and Readers of IPSE journal:

The international journal Inverse Problems in Engineering (IPE) that I founded in October of 1994 was published as a quarterly by Gordon and Breach Science Publishers and became a bimonthly in January of 1999. Starting with the year 2002, IPE became a publication of the Taylor and Francis Group, which bought Gordon and Breach and in February of 2004 changed its name to Inverse Problems in Science and Engineering (IPSE). Until recently, IPSE was published eight times per year with an average of 186 pages per issue. In order to reduce the backlog of the accepted papers, starting with 2016 IPSE will be published nine times per year with an average of 188 pages per issue. IPSE is now one of the firmly established leading international journals dealing with multidisciplinary inverse problems and practical methods of their solution.

I am grateful for the number of years of service devoted to IPSE journal by many of our distinguished colleagues that have been serving as members of the Board of Associate Editors (AEs), Board of Scientific Advisors and as expert reviewers of articles submitted to IPSE.

During the past year, Professor Hirohisa Kojima (Japan) asked to be excused from his AE role because of new urgent commitments. I would like to thank him very much for his highly professional service to IPSE during the previous several years.

It became apparent that rapidly increasing diversity and number of submitted papers need additional dynamic Associate Editors. I would like to welcome these colleagues that have just joined the expanded Board of Associate Editors of IPSE:

Konstantin P. Gaikovich (Russia)

Pavel M. Trivailo (Australia)

Marko Vauhkonen (Finland)

I would also like to announce that Professor Masahiro Yamamoto (Japan) has accepted an invitation to serve as a member of the Board of Scientific Advisors of IPSE.

It is my hope that these changes will bring further improvements to IPSE’s quality and its impact factor and contribute to an even faster growth of the journal.
