Dear Colleagues, Authors and Readers of IPSE journal:

Last year was the 25 year anniversary of the founding of the Inverse Problems in Science and Engineering (IPSE) journal. It was initially called Inverse Problems in Engineering (IPE) and it was published as a quarterly by Gordon and Breach Science Publishers.

In 2002, Taylor and Francis Group acquired Gordon and Breach and in February 2004, the name of the journal was changed from IPE to IPSE. The journal is now one of the leading international journals dealing with multidisciplinary inverse problems theory and applications. Currently, IPSE is published monthly online and three times per year in thick paper volumes.

On the occasion of the end of the year 2020, which was challenging in many respects, I would like to thank all of our distinguished colleagues that have been serving as members of the Board of Associate Editors, Board of Scientific Advisors and as expert reviewers of articles submitted to IPSE.

Professor William (Bill) R.B. Lionheart from University of Manchester (UK) has joined the Board of Scientific Advisors of IPSE. He is an internationally recognized authority on inverse problems and served as an Associate Editor of IPSE in the past.

At the same time, I would like to welcome the colleagues that have just joined the Board of Associate Editors (AEs) of IPSE:

Prof. Onur Baysal (Turkey)

Prof. Piermarco Cannarsa (Italy)

Prof. Alexandre Kawano (Brazil)

Dr. Sohail R. Reddy (USA)

Prof. Faouzi Triki (France)

It is my expectation that these AEs will bring additional expertise and continued improvements to IPSE’s quality focusing on originality of accepted articles that will contribute to the continued success and growth of the journal.
