Abstract
In the context of recent government initiatives emphasizing personal responsibility for a healthy lifestyle, of escalating healthcare costs and an aging population, and of new technologies which provide both an opportunity for communication and potential pitfalls of inaccurate and confusing information, good health communication is increasingly important. There is also a need to support the professionals who provide this health information, & Coventry University is offering a new Masters degree to address this gap. Developed by the University's new Health Design Technology Institute in conjunction with Coventry School of Art and Design, the MA Health Communication Design is a unique new course which will run from September 2007.
