You may have noticed a different aesthetic to the articles within this issue of the journal, and be wondering “why the change”?
Taylor and Francis have been working with journal editors, authors, and librarians over the last six months, gathering feedback on what in terms of layout and design, should be included in the journal article. PDF emerged as the preferred format of the majority of those publishing on Taylor & Francis Online, with this in mind the researchers wanted to explore how its reading experience could be improved.
Once the research had been completed, the feedback was combined with some of the leading innovations in scholarly publishing to create ‘Interact’. The aim of ‘Interact’ is simple, to evolve the journal article, ensuring it meets the increasing expectations of the scholarly community.
One important change to note is the referencing style. Before the implementation of ‘Interact’ The Journal of Visual Communication requested authors use the Vancouver style of referencing. Following the change we have moved to APA style:
APA (American Psychological Association) references are widely used in the social sciences, education, engineering and business. For detailed information, please see the Publication Manual of the American Psychological Association, 6th edition, http://www.apastyle.org/and http://blog.apastyle.org/.
To read about this style of referencing in more detail to ensure your paper will be accepted at the earliest opportunity, you can find a downloadable PDF here:
