ARTIST'S STATEMENT
This picture reflects upon an art psychotherapy session and explores the transfer of body feelings and sensations from the person to the artwork. The unseen hands of the artist are drawn on the sheet of paper. Tears become paint, and ink and pigment communicate what words do not in this moment. The tree stands in for the art therapist, who looks on as a witness, watching the art making unfold with interest and hope for the artist's life beyond the art therapy table.
