Abstract
In this paper, the technique of surface absorption of a uniform laser radiation is used to illuminate the upper surface of a thermoelastic layer whose properties are temperature-dependent utilizing the new modification of Green's and Lindsay's thermoelasticity theory. The upper surface of the layer is exposed to heat losses and the lower surface is considered insulated, while both are traction free. The general solution of the problem obtained by applying Laplace transform in which whose inverse obtained computationally. In addition to the usual temperature-dependent consideration, we also investigate the case of temperature-dependent absorption coefficient of the surface.
