1. As we write this introduction, the election of Poland's first Black member of parliament, Nigerian-born John Abraham Godson has recently taken place. As quoted by the article, MP Godson, admits suffering racial abuse in living in Poland but he attributes this abuse to ignorance and is quoted as indicating that ‘what we have here is not racism, it is low inter-cultural competence’ (Pilat 2010).
