Person-Centered Communication, Leader-Member Exchange, and Employee Job Satisfaction

Pages 35-44 | Published online: 23 Aug 2006

ABSTRACT

This study examined relationships between employees' perceptions of their supervisors' use of person-centered communication (PCC), the quality of their leader-member relationship (LMX), and their job satisfaction. Results indicate significant positive relationships between PCC and LMX and between PCC and employee job satisfaction. In addition, PCC was found to be more predictive of employee job satisfaction than was LMX relationship quality.
