J. D. Moorman (PhD, University of Michigan) is an Assistant Professor of Communication at Wayne State University in Detroit, Michigan. She holds a Master of Health Science from Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health. Dr. Moorman explores media’s contribution to health and development over the life course. Her research interests include media sexual socialization, single socialization, intersectionality, Black feminist theory, and the health implications of children’s media use.
