Abstract
This paper is aimed at the evaluation, from a probabilistic point of view, of seismic performances exhibited by traditional concentrically braced frames with different structural schemes. The application of Jalayer and Cornell approach, providing a closed form expression for the evaluation of the mean annual frequency of exceeding a defined limit state, is shown and the results are compared with those obtained by means of the numerical integration of the PEER equation. In particular, the influence of the homoschedasticity assumption (constant demand dispersion for variable intensity of seismic actions) is analysed, with reference to different criteria for the evaluation of the demand dispersion, pointing the best criterion for an accurate application of Jalayer and Cornel approach
