5. Christopher S. Browning in his article, “Branding Nordicity: Models, Identity and the Decline of Exceptionalism” articulates the problem Nordic countries are facing since the end of the cold war to reformulate its identity. He introduces the idea of branding to the debate about national identity, utilizing the differences between the specificity of a brand in its usage in the market place, versus identity which is fluid and constructivist, formed in relation to others and reproduced by a relevant audience.
