Dame Marilyn Strathern is emeritus professor of social anthropology at the University of Cambridge. Her books include The Gender of the Gift (1988), Partial Connections (1991), After Nature (1992), Audit Cultures (edited, 2000), and Kinship, Law, and the Unexpected (2005).
