2 Chicago Boys was a name given to prominent economists in Chile during the era of Chilean dictator Pinochet. The etymology of this name is attributed to the fact that this particular set of economists had their training at Chicago University under the guidance of pioneer neoliberal proponents Milton Freedman and Arnold Harberger. Chilean policy reformers and ministers such as Sergio de Castro, Hernan Buchi and Micheal Kast Rit were notable members of the Chicago School, who carried out the neoliberal experiments in Chile.
