Abstract
World Trade Organisation (WTO) was established on 1 January 1995 after the collapse of GATT and countries joined with the aim of better international trade. An important economic union of the present time is BRICS, all countries of the union being members of WTO. This study is based on identifying the role of WTO in promotion of merchandise trade of BRICS. The time period of the study is post WTO era from 1995 to 2014 and the estimation relies on the usage of econometric model developed on Baseline Gravity Model.
