Jerry T. Mitchell
Jerry T. Mitchell is chair of the Department of Geography and director of the Center of Excellence for Geographic Education at the University of South Carolina. He is the current NCGE president (Citation2020) and former editor of the Journal of Geography (2010–2019). In addition to interests in geography education, he specializes in environmental hazards research. A strong believer in the importance of undergraduate study abroad experiences, he has taught in Chile and Costa Rica.
