1. The history of Bargello, flame-like stitchery, is shrouded in mystery and fable. It was executed in sixteenth-century Florence, most often with even-weave linen as opposed to canvas. Examples done by prisoners condemned to death in jail can be seen in the Bargello Palace in Florence.
