ABSTRACT
Spiritual competency encompasses the ability to conceptualize and utilize a client’s spiritual experience in clinical contexts while mitigating one’s own bias through self-awareness and knowledge. In this article, spiritual competency in clinical work with children is explored. Findings showed an interplay between conceptualization and participation in such settings. A framework of spiritual competency in clinical work with children was developed, and a need for further professional support in this area became apparent.
