ABSTRACT
This paper aims to shed light on the importance of the use of hope in psychotherapy and how Islāmic psychotherapy works on the instillation of hope in clients for better, long-lasting, and speedy improvement. A number of Western researches have suggested that the construct of hope is an integral part of psychotherapy to help clients accept the process of change with an optimistic approach toward the process. Islāmic hope therapy allows a therapist to build focus on the Mercy of God, the Almighty, and the meaning and purpose of life, which creates a compelling spiritual motivation in the client and helps to reduce susceptibility to depression and anxiety by strengthening trust. It is suggested that psychotherapists must integrate hope therapy with Islāmic psychotherapy to speed up the healing process.
