Abstract

The case of a 38-year-old lesbian patient in psychotherapy is presented and discussed. Issues include feelings of disconnection and stagnation in both patient and therapist, and masculine and feminine (butch and femme) gender expression in lesbians.

1. The names of the patient, her wife, her brother, and the former therapist have been changed.
