Abstract
In this continuation of JGLMH’s Oral History Series, Dr. Jack Drescher, Emeritus Editor, interviews Dr. John Sweet. Dr. Sweet is now retired from a distinguished career in psychiatry that included service as a military psychiatrist in the US Air Force, directorship of a state outpatient mental health clinic in St. Louis, Missouri, and private practice. After retirement in 2005, he has volunteered as a trustee for the William A. Kerr Foundation. In this interview, Dr. Sweet speaks with Dr. Drescher about coming to terms with his sexual orientation, in the context of both personal and professional life.
