ABSTRACT
Irregular mass migration flows and border crossings in an age of terror present challenges when unregulated mass migration is viewed through the lens of homeland security. The inability to address these challenges pose national and regional security concerns that compromise the health, safety and security of the residents of the destination countries and the migrants on the journey. This collection of papers seeks to help practitioners, policy makers and civil leaders understand and address the social, cultural and homeland security needs associated with irregular mass migration flows.
