EU Personal Data Protection Standards and Regulatory Framework

Abstract

The purpose of the study is to identify the prospects and challenges that arise in the application of the current EU legislation in field of personal data protection. Legal historical method and method of legal forecasting used in work made it possible to analyze advantages of modern instruments of legal regulation. The advantages and disadvantages of the Regulation were analyzed. The analysis indicated a lack of legal certainty of the conceptual apparatus and procedural mechanism of the Regulation, different visions of legislator and representatives of the scientific community regarding the conclusions made by artificial intelligence systems using personal data.
