ABSTRACT
This book review evaluates Cris Beam's Transparent: Love, Family, and Living the T With Transgender Teenagers, a narrative of the author's relationships with young transsexual women of color in inner-city Los Angeles from 1998 to 2005. The book provides important insights into the lives of individuals who have rarely been considered in the literature about lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender youth or transgender people.
