Another Decade of Research in Club Management: A Review of the Literature in Academic Journals for the Period 1994–2005

Abstract

This article presents a review of 45 articles that have been published in the area of club management in academic journals available in North America. Sampling, methodologies, and results of the articles are presented in an effort to illustrate that while the number of articles that were published during this time represents a four-fold increase over the previous ten year period, research methods are still rather limited. Finally, this article summarizes the published research, categorizes each of the articles, makes some observations on the state of club management research, and makes some suggestions for a future research agenda.
