Abstract
The scholarship of teaching, first introduced by Boyer (1990), is a systematic method of evaluating teaching which contributes to the advancement of theory and knowledge of pedagogy. Schole: A Journal of Leisure Studies and Recreation Education's mission is to promote the scholarly approach to learning and teaching in the discipline of leisure studies. The purpose of this study was to evaluate Schole's contribution to teaching and learning using the scholarship of teaching as a frame of reference. Included are examples of how our profession has contributed to the scholarship of teaching and areas that still need to be addressed.
