Abstract
Occupational therapists working in school-based practice provide intervention using a variety of approaches, including hands-on services for students (individual or small groups), team supports, and system supports. This commentary highlights the benefits and challenges of collaborating with education team members within classrooms and other contexts in school settings. The lessons learned provide an understanding of the need for collaboration versus consultation with the occupational therapist as the expert.
