Abstract
Electrodeionization (EDI) was used for the removal of Sr2+ from simulated wastewater. The effects of several operational variables, including the flow rate, the initial pH, and the Sr2+ concentration, were investigated, respectively. The optimum operational parameters are as follows: the initial pH of feed solution is 7.0, the flow rate and the concentration of feed solution are 1.0 L h−1 and 50 mg L−1. Under these conditions, the residual Sr2+ concentration is as low as 0.0415 mg L−1 after 200 min of EDI process, the energy consumption is 7.66 kW h m−3, and the current efficiency 9.17%.
