ABSTRACT
The study aims to assess the level of job satisfaction in healthcare workers (physicians and nursing staff) of Lipetsk Oblast (Russia) and find out factors accounting for a turnover of physicians and nurses in healthcare institutions of Lipetsk Oblast. The surveys presented in the article were carried out in 2017–2018. They necessitated the use of such methods as data analysis, questioning, and interviewing healthcare workers. As a result, the level of job satisfaction among physicians and nurses was assessed. The major parameters which lay at the base of the analysis were the economic and organizational factors, working conditions, and social-psychological climate. Despite the peculiarities of working conditions determined by the type of a healthcare institution, all the respondents pointed out high labour intensity and insufficient job-related financial rewards. Most respondents also linked the psychological problems faced by them to have to deal with certain categories of patients and their relatives. It was revealed that the financial component of the occupation is the aspect that healthcare workers are the least satisfied with, which confirms the data obtained by Russian and foreign researchers.
