Editor’s Note

On behalf of the editorial board, I would like to express my sincere gratitude to all contributors to and participants in the successful publishing of all issues of the International Journal of Sustainable Building Technology and Urban Development in 2015. Since January 2012, Taylor & Francis (UK) has published the SUSB journal and distributed it through their network. We hope this will provide us with significant opportunities to disseminate our efforts on a global level. This journal will also be indexed in the SCOPUS database as of 2015. I would like to express my appreciation to all the members of the editorial board and to all of our contributors.

Five technical papers are published in this issue which range widely in scope from house to city level, with energy analysis, energy conservation and sustainability evaluation according to theoretical or experimental assessment as follows: ‘The mechanical characteristics of on-site manufactured compressed earth blocks: the effects of water repellent and other additives’ by Mak et al., ‘Analysis of critical features and evaluation of BIM software: towards a plug-in for construction waste prediction and minimisation’ by Bilal et al., ‘The thermal response of a ferrocement cavity wall under direct fire’ by Al-Rifaie et al., ‘Assessing the allowable daylight illuminance from skylights in single-storey buildings in Malaysia: a review’ by Al-Obaidi, and ‘Development of a green road rating system for South Korea’ by Park and Ahn.

Finally, I would like to extend my sincere gratitude to all the contributors and participants who have made this journal possible.
