We wish to acknowledge that this issue is the first since the journal’s inception to have been produced without the guiding hand of Dr Veronica Sekules. She stepped down from her post as Co-Editor in January 2016 to concentrate full-time on new projects in the East of England. As a founding editor over seven years ago and crucial link to the museum and contemporary art world, it is fair to say that her expertise and effort helped birth the journal and lead it through its most formative stages. Her imprint on the journal is legion: the content, layout, volume themes, advisory board composition, editorials. Over Dr Sekules’s tenure, the readership has grown tremendously and this once-fledgling serial is increasingly a preferred venue for examining and understanding art in the world, past and present. The editorial team will miss her most greatly, particularly her vision and spirit of camaraderie on the World Art project.
