ABSTRACT
British writer Jamie Delano is synonymous with comics that reveal truths about both inner worlds of characters and the social, cultural and political optics that inform and contextualise their stories. In this interview, undertaken in January 2020, he discusses writing John Constantine, Hellblazer, Animal Man and Captain Britain, his approach to storytelling and writing, the current popularity of superheroes within the broader pop culture, and the relationship between creatives and the comics industry today.
