A SAR change detection method based on the consistency of single-pixel difference and neighbourhood difference

ABSTRACT

This letter presents a synthetic aperture radar (SAR) change detection method based on the consistency of single-pixel difference and neighbourhood difference. The single-pixel difference is reflected by the log-ratio (LR), and the logarithmic likelihood ratio (LLR) is used to calculate the neighbourhood difference. Then, the two operators mentioned are combined to construct a new detector. The new detector can enhance the degree of difference between the changed class and unchanged class while having better anti-noise ability. According to the histogram of the difference image (DI), the ratio curve of the histogram presents a pattern that the curve changes from stabilization to random oscillation. Then, the transitional point is selected as the threshold. The experimental results from different data sets demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed method.
