ABSTRACT
This study aims to validate instrumental qualities including reliabilities and construct validity of the short form Thai version of the Working Alliance Inventory (WAI-S). The instrument was developed using a three-step translation process. A sample consists of 102 clients who attended counselling sessions at a university in Thailand. The reliabilities of the Thai WAI-S were high. The confirmatory factor analysis found that both 1-dimension or 3-interrelated dimension models were equally fit and can be used to measure working alliance depending on the research objective.
